EMCOR UK is an integrated facilities management provider, with an office located on the sunny coast near Eastleigh. Never one to miss an opportunity, they took this chance to breathe new life into their office space as it underwent refurbishment.
Although EMCOR UK were desperate for a more vibrant workspace, they were adamant that the walls and floors should echo their own vision, mission and values.
Before we could start the creative process, we paid Premier House several visits and soon got an idea of why EMCOR UK wanted to spruce things up.
The absence of internal signage with the abundance of white wall space highlighted the depth of work that was needed to bring interest to the building.
We got the ball rolling by redesigning the reception space. As this would be many customers' first physical interaction with EMCOR UK, incorporating the brand was a must. We used a range of materials and for the logo, had it surface mounted to the freshly painted walls. The relief created by the logo was utilised to take advantage of the changing position of the sun throughout the day – ensuring that the shadows created shifted over time.
Past the reception space, we added much more colour, influenced from EMCOR UK’s vibrant brand palette. To help revitalise the various office spaces for each department, we designed role-specific signage with EMCOR UK’s mantra at the heart – making our customers’ lives easier.
Plus, we worked on an identity for the office’s canteen, which paid homage to a long-standing member of staff.
As well as bringing life to Premier House, our team took care of the logistical factors. We organised the manufacture, distribution and installation of all our designs.
Throughout the project, we worked alongside surveyors, architects and the client to make sure that our designs were considered and feasible.
We’re looking to develop the theme further by creating a visitor engagement piece within the reception area and designing more graphics as the refurbishment continues.
